Working alongside the Countryside and Forestry Commission the owners strive to run the farm along organic lines. They planted 6000 trees a few years ago installed wind turbines and created a 3 mile woodland walk around the farm. The Lizard Peninsula offers dramatic cliff-top walks that pass old disused mine works and hidden coves. The famous Helford River is 2 miles away. Helston with pubs shops and restaurants is a short drive. Penzance offers a wide range of activities from sailing bowling laser shooting as well as restaurants shops and pubs. Roskilly s farm famous for its ice cream made from their Jersey cows is close by. A must is Lands End the most Westerly point of England. Falmouth famed for its castle and naval history boutique shops and seafood restaurants is a short drive. Games room: barn with a pool table and dart board. This grand farmhouse offers you the chance to stay in a slice of Cornwall offering FOUR bedrooms: 1 master double with four-poster bed (with separate bunk bedroom suitable for two small children) 2 twin bedrooms and 1 unusual retreat bedroom that is reached through the kitchen and is on 2 levels with its own en-suite shower room offering 1 double bedroom with 2 single beds (that are reached via steep stairs with limited headroom); the perfect room for the older children to enjoy their own space on holiday. Bathroom: also situated on the first floor with bath and WC. Downstairs shower room with WC. Lounge: spacious area where you are greeted by all the period features you would expect from a property mentioned in the Doomsday Book with beams made from the old shipwrecks off the coast and large inglenook fireplace with millstone hearth (first basket of logs supplied) TV/DVD and Freeview. Kitchen/diner: with oil fired Aga stove larder area electric cooker microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. The large pine table offers ample seating for everyone to enjoy each other s company. Outside: french doors lead out of the lounge into the large well established garden which is a fully enclosed sun trap complete with sunken patio garden furniture and BBQ. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen electric first basket of logs and night storage heating included. Regret no smoking in the property. Regret no pets. Additional info: please feel free to bring your wellies. Wi-fi available in the lounge. Location: beach shop and pub 2 miles. Arrival: 4pm.

Helston is a market town in southern Cornwall, England. It is distinguished by being the most southerly town in England as well as the second oldest in Cornwall (after Marazion). It is located within a few miles of Sithney, Porthleven, Wendron, Breage, and Crowan and is one of over 250 towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest city is the Cornish capital of Truro with the much larger port of Plymouth being further afield.
Located at the northern end of the Lizard Peninsula Helston used to be known for tin mining, but now tourism forms a large part of its income, given its location in the South West of Cornwall between Penzance and Falmouth, which makes it ideal for exploring this part of the country. The town has become known for its annual Furry Dance (also known as the Flora Dance), which is thought to have originated in medieval times.
